About Us

Bridget LaMonica is the founder of Balanced Life Matters where she brings her extensive years of conventional and natural medicine with her to provide her clients with the education in natural health practices they need to live a healthy balanced life. She earned her RN from Flushing Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing in 1981. While she worked in various areas of the hospital such as Med/Surg and ICU, the majority of her professional career as a Registered Nurse was in the Operating Room. Bridget’s interests in a variety of career opportunities allowed her to complete her BA in Business and Project Management graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2006 from American InterContinental University.

A personal tragedy with the loss of her brother to cancer in 2004 started her journey into Natural Health. Bridget completed her CNHP (Certified Natural Health Professional) in 2014 and completed her ND (Doctor of Naturopathy) through Trinity School of Natural Health in 2017.

A Personal Note from Bridget

What I learned from my years of experience and my pursuit of Natural/Holistic health practices is that the human body is amazing and there is a very real connection between the Body, Mind and Spirit. The body has the ability to heal from the inside out and it has a natural ability to restore itself in the proper environment.  I also learned that ‘Balance’ means something different to everyone.  My journey is still ongoing. I have a thirst for learning and I decided that I would share what I learn with others. I listen to each of my clients to understand what it means to them to live a balanced healthy life. Each person is unique. I continue to help educate them in natural health matters and advocate a healthy lifestyle.

When I meet a client for the first time, I ask them to take me on a journey through their ‘mind-body-spirit’ evolution, understanding what their goals for health are and how I can help them to achieve those goals.

Here is my journey into Natural Health. In my early years I did volunteer work for Muscular Dystrophy. I knew that I wanted to be a nurse and in 1981, my dream was realized. As my interests grew, my thirst for learning compelled me to pursue further education in Psychology, Computers, and Business.

Then tragedy struck my family. My brother was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2004. As an RN, I was very familiar with the traditional western treatments used for cancer and was distressed that there was nothing else that could be done for him. I began to educate myself in alternative measures for curing cancer. The books I read were consistently focused on lifestyle changes that allowed the body, mind and spirit to fight and overcome the cancer. This was when I became aware of the intricate connection between the Body, Mind and Spirit. Unfortunately for my brother, his cancer persisted, and we lost him within a year of his diagnosis. This was a devastating event for my family and like many people who undergo such a traumatic event, it made me reevaluate my life. This started my journey into natural health.

For many years now, I have studied and been interested in natural/holistic health and alternative health care which helped me to pursue a proficiency in a variety of alternative modalities. As a Naturopath, I have learned so much.  I believe that to live a healthy life one must work towards a balance of Mind, Body and Spirit. The care and education I provide my clients can help restore them to health, stay well, and live a balanced healthy life.
